Founder

I had never thought to become an entrepreneur. It wasn’t until I read the book “15 Dalit Millionaires” that the idea took birth within me. Prior to this, I had been encouraged by my Aussie friend Lynd Disher to start a business but I had no desire to do so.

We have started this business with 3 main objectives. Firstly to generate income to support our Children’s Home and English Medium High School for Dalit (Untouchable) children. 40% of profits go towards this incredible work which is our vision and passion

Secondly to give dignity and hope to poor Dalit village women through employment.

The third one is to inspire and encourage the Dalit young people to become entrepreneurs. We strongly believe that the Dalit people’s lives will not be changed unless they have financial freedom.

I want to see my Dalit people completely free from the bondage and poverty that trapped us for 3,000 years. We don’t want a handout – but we want a Hand Up.

We strive to produce the best quality products. Every product you purchase contributes to the ongoing freedom of children and women. I would like to encourage you to consider buying or selling Promise Bags yourself.

Thank you for taking the time to read about our work. Please feel free to check out what we do to help Dalit people through our organization at www.lightkids.org

Together we can make a difference

Let’s give Hope and Freedom through Business
